RSSThe Museum Guard vs. The Fax
This group project’s aim was to explore how people use devices by examining devices out of context, in this case, mismatching tasks and devices. Our group was given as our challenge a museum guard and a fax machine, which led us to rework not just the device but the job. From our field research, interviews and guerilla ethnography, we chose to redesign the museum guard’s role and empower him with making him a critic. This allowed the guard to actively engage the museum pieces as well as the visitors via a fax messaging system.
